Talking Medicines at EIE 2025

Over two energising days in Edinburgh, Talking Medicines was honoured to take the stage at both EIE25 and the Tech Tour Growth Deeptech 2025, two flagship events convening some of the most exciting minds in innovation and investment.

We were grateful to be invited by Scottish Enterprise — with special thanks to Liz Burke and Paul Funnell, CA — to speak to investors and leaders shaping the future of deep technology. These events offered a unique platform for us to share the work we’re doing at the intersection of AI, health, and data science through Drug-GPT, our advanced data science solution transforming how pharmaceutical companies understand the patient voice.

Day One: EIE25

At EIE25, Talking Medicines was among a select group of startups chosen to pitch to a room of global investors. It was a privilege to represent Scottish Health DataTech and to share how our AI is helping commercial teams in pharma to drive change and improve patient-centric decision-making.

The EIE platform continues to be a powerful amplifier for Scotland’s most promising companies, and it was energising to connect with fellow founders, funders, and innovation enablers. We left inspired by the bold ideas shaping the future across multiple industries.

Day Two: Tech Tour Growth Deeptech 2025

The momentum continued at Tech Tour Growth Deeptech 2025, hosted at The National Robotarium, where our Co-Founders Elizabeth Fairley and Scott Crae spoke as part of a day focused on scaling scientific and technological innovation.

The event was opened by Prof Gillian Murray, Deputy Principal for Business and Enterprise at Heriot-Watt University, and David Farquhar FRGS, President of Tech Tour, setting the tone for an inspiring deep dive into AI, robotics, and frontier research.

Highlights from the closing session included:

  • 💡 Reuben Aitken, Managing Director, Energy Transition & International Operations at Scottish Enterprise, who emphasised the importance of building deep, meaningful partnerships and ecosystems that enable companies to scale globally.

  • 🔗 Stuart Patrick CBE, CEO of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, who shared the vision for a thriving SME cluster as a success metric.

  • 👏 William Stevens, Co-Founder & Group Managing Director of Tech Tour Europe, who closed with a powerful reminder that innovation succeeds when we keep the passion, work collaboratively, and always stay in sales mode.

A final round of applause went to David Farquhar FRGS, recognised for his leadership and vision in convening the community.

Reflecting on the Week

These two events marked a milestone for Talking Medicines — a chance to spotlight our progress, gain valuable investor feedback, and strengthen ties within the deep tech ecosystem. We’re proud to be part of Scotland’s thriving innovation landscape and excited to keep building momentum with peers, partners, and investors.

To all the founders, funders, organisers, and visionaries we met: thank you. Let’s keep the conversations going and the innovation flowing.
