Founder and CEO of Talking Medicines, Jo Halliday, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List June 2025, recognising her outstanding contribution to entrepreneurship, data innovation, and health tech leadership in the UK and beyond.

This honour is not just a celebration of personal achievement, it marks a powerful moment for the Talking Medicines team and the bold vision behind Drug-GPT, our pioneering Advanced Data Science and AI platform built to unlock the real-world HCP and Patient voice from unstructured data.

Building Outside the Expected

Based in Glasgow, Talking Medicines is proudly different, female-founded, tech driven, and relentlessly focused on transforming how Pharma hears and acts on intelligence from the real world.

As Jo reflects:

“This recognition is deeply personal—but it’s not just about me. It’s about us—Elizabeth Fairley, Scott Crae, and the whole Talking Medicines team. We’ve built something that didn’t yet exist—and we’ve done it our way.”

Changing the Game in Pharma Intelligence

Through Drug-GPT, we transform unstructured health-related data into actionable intelligence.

This work challenges the status quo in a conservative, highly regulated industry. And it makes space for bold ideas that put data to work for real-world outcomes.

“This MBE honours that difference. It recognises the boldness to build with purpose, to listen in new ways, and to believe that intelligence from the real world can power better decisions.”

A Shared Honour

The MBE shines a light on the collective journey: the investors who backed early vision, the mentors and advisors who offered critical insight, the customers who trusted us, and the team who built every line of code and strategy behind Drug-GPT.

To everyone who supported, challenged, and championed Talking Medicines—this recognition is shared.

What’s Next?

At Talking Medicines, we continue to scale our impact towards our vision of enabling better health outcomes.

Thank You

To the extended network of family, friends, colleagues and those who nominated Jo, thank you. This MBE represents what’s possible when you build with conviction, and when you believe that data can, and should, be used to do better.

Dream big.
